- [Instructor] A vendor bug can be caused by an update to software or just poor programming that needs to be fixed. You can use various different tools that I'll demonstrate shortly to discover if this is the issue and you can contact the vendor to try to resolve the issue. Many times the vendor may have a resolution, but hasn't yet published it. Windows updates breaks many things. You shouldn't even do an update until you've tested it in a sandbox environment separate from all other production computers. Once that's done, you can feel safe about deploying it to computers and servers in the organization. Sometimes the software operating system just gets corrupted by many different variables. It could be a hardware issue that's damaged the software or an interaction with other software that damaged some files.
