- [Narrator] In order to understand what prompt engineering is, let's first talk about what generative AI is. Generative AI is a broad description for technology that leverages AI to generate data. This data can include text, images, audio, video, and even code. Now, prompt engineering refers to constructing inputs that help us get the most out of generative AI, and language models in particular. Now, this is a really fast-changing ecosystem we're dealing with here, and some of the technologies where prompt engineering really shines at the time of this recording are the GPT-related technologies. That is GPT, GPT-2, and GPT-3, as well as ChatGPT, the Jurassic models, there is GPT-J, which is an open source, large language model. Then there are text-to-image models like Dall-E, Midjourney, and Stable Diffusion. There's BERT from Google, as well as the new offering of Bard, which leverages LaMDA.
