- [Instructor] Let's create a simple XLOOKUP formula. Remember, XLOOKUP is available to you if you have an Office 365 subscription. Otherwise, you can use VLOOKUP and we'll be doing that next. We're going to create the example I showed you earlier, where we're going to look up the state, figure out and find that entire row, and then return the status, which is in column F. To get started, I'll put in a state. That way, the formula has something to work with. In the status field is where we're going to put our XLOOKUP formula. To type any formula, we always start with an equal sign. That tells Excel that a formula is coming. I'll put in XLOOKUP. You can make it capital. You don't have to. It's completely up to you. Excel does not care. And I'll put in an open parenthesis. Excel will tell you all the parameters it needs. The current perimeter that it wants is going to be bold-faced.
