- [Instructor] When you're trying to locate data in Excel, 2 or, in some cases, trying to correct data in Excel, 3 there are various selection and replacement tools 4 that we can use. 5 One of them is a filter. 6 As we look at the data in column A, simply part numbers, 7 occasionally, part numbers are positional, 8 maybe the third character in each case means something. 9 In some case, maybe the order of the numbers 10 or maybe the last four characters mean something. 11 Sometimes we're trying to isolate them 12 on the basis of what we see here. 13 So a filter is appropriate at times. 14 I'll click column A and simply click the filter button. 15 We see that arrow there. 16 One approach sometimes is if we're doing a simple search 17 for just the entries here that have the letter Z in them, 18 right here in the search panel, just click in there, type Z. 19 The list below, 20 although you can't tell it immediately, has…
