- [Instructor] Excel's DATEDIF function is a powerful 2 and very useful function. 3 There is an oddity about it though. 4 If you're trying to track this down, 5 as we sometimes do with functions, 6 you go to the formulas tab, 7 find the appropriate category, 8 in this case date and time, 9 but where's DATEDIF? 10 It's not listed here, 11 nor is it listed in any of the other function groups either. 12 But nevertheless, it works. 13 But typically, when you type a function, 14 you do get some indication 15 on the screen that it's available, 16 but not here. 17 So how do we use it, 18 and how are we about to use it here? 19 We want to calculate the age of these people. 20 We want to do it in such a way too 21 that anytime we look at this file, it's accurate. 22 Nearly always, age entries in Excel should be formulas. 23 There are exceptions, of course, for example, 24 age at enrollment, age at departure, 25…
