Sorting by day of month for birthday and anniversary lists

- [Instructor] When you work with lists in Excel, invariably you want to sort those lists. The list we're looking at on this worksheet has about 750 rows. It's currently sorted by employee name over in column A. Now at different times you need to work with dates. Column B has a hire date, column G has a birthdate here. And we might want to sort these by date, or we might want to even sort them in such a way that within a given month they're in order by day. Off to the right is a completed example of how that can look. So we see all the Januarys here, they're all in different years but they're in order, January 1st, 2nd, three of them for January 3rd, two out of the 4th, and so on. And getting those not quite as easy as it might seem. Let's first do sort by date quickly and easily. I'll simply click anywhere in column G.
