- [Instructor] On this worksheet, 2 we're about to enter information in columns E and J, 3 and it's going to be similar. 4 We want to isolate or pull out the month 5 of each of these hire dates. 6 We want to, in effect, create an anniversary month. 7 This person was hired in November, 8 so we want to see November right here. 9 One thought is use the function called MONTH. 10 This will extract the monthly number from a cell. 11 Can only give us the values one through 12 12 and it gives us 11 here and no big surprise there. 13 Now with that information, 14 we could have a list somewhere else that shows the 12 months 15 and a number next to each one, 16 and then use either VLOOKUP or maybe even better XLOOKUP. 17 That certainly will work, 18 and we could get the actual text in here. 19 But there's a much simpler way. 20 And then we can actually sort on it as well too. 21 Equal text. 22 We're going to pick up the data…
