- [Instructor] Whenever you need to pull together data 2 from different cell locations, 3 there are any number of different functions 4 in Excel you could be using. 5 And when it comes time to splitting data 6 into different cells, 7 a newer function called TEXTSPLIT is likely to be helpful. 8 Let's first talk about joining data. 9 In column A, we've got a list of product IDs, 10 and there's their current ID. 11 We're about to create some new IDs, though. 12 Based on the year that that product was created, 13 its color, location, and size, 14 we simply want to join them, 15 and if we simply want to join them 16 without any other characters, 17 we could be using an older function called concatenate. 18 Now, if you happen to go to the Formulas tab 19 and go to Text Functions, 20 you don't see that function listed anymore, 21 but you will see CONCAT, its replacement. 22 Concatenate will still work, 23 but CONCAT…
