- [Instructor] When you work with lists in Excel, 2 whether they're large or small, 3 you're likely to want to sort that list. 4 It's probably the most frequently used data management tool 5 that we have in Excel. 6 And it's not uncommon to sort by way of the data tab. 7 That's where we find those major sort features, 8 the sort button that activates the dialogue box here, 9 and those other buttons that allow us to sort more quickly. 10 And you also find on the home tab way off to the right, 11 a sort and filter button 12 that gives us those same capabilities. 13 Now I always recommend 14 that whenever you're about to sort a list, 15 particularly if you're not too familiar with the list itself 16 or haven't seen it in a long time, press CTRL A, 17 and that highlights all the contiguous cells 18 around the active cell. 19 Then press control period a few times. 20 This will move the active cell around the corners. 21…
