- [Instructor] Welcome to another tip and trick for AutoCAD. We're going to be taking a look at using fields in an AutoCAD table, so we've got a drawing for you. It's called "321 Using Fields.dwg". And as usual, you can download it from the library to follow along with this particular tips and tricks video. Make sure you're in the model tab when you open up the drawing and you should see three shapes in the drawing, a rectangle in green, a circle in yellow, and a polygon in the blue cyan color. You'll also see a small color coded table in the red below those shapes. Now you'll notice we've already got the name of the shape and the layer that the shape is on in the table. What we're going to do is we're going to utilize fields in AutoCAD to add the actual physical areas of our shapes. Now we can work with the rectangle, the circle, or the polygon to do this.
