- [Instructor] We're starting another AutoCAD tip and trick today. And we're going to take a look at how you can translate layers in AutoCAD. So for that reason, we've got a new drawing for you. It's called 292 Translating Layers.dwg. And you should know the drill by now. You can download it from the library to follow along with the tips and tricks video. Now, the drawing itself is incredibly simple. We've got two polylines representing a building. So this white polyline here represents the existing building. The red dashed polyline represents the proposed extension to the existing building. Now this might be a third party drawing that has come in from somewhere else. So their layer naming philosophy might be very different to yours. So what you want to do is you want to get all the objects on a particular layer onto another layer that is standardized within your drawing. So what we can do is we can use the layer…
