Financial data and AI

- [Instructor] Artificial intelligence in a nutshell, really comes down to two things, a set of rules, often mathematically defined, and then the data that allow decisions to be made based on those rules. Now, coming up with the rules varies depending on what you're trying to do and how you're trying to do it, but the data is going to be a very, very important part of any AI system. So where can you get data that might be used in a financial artificial intelligence engine? Well, there's a few different options, but you know, two of my favorites are WRDS for the Wharton Research Data Services and Nasdaq's Data Link and I want to talk about each of these briefly. So WRDS comes from the University of Pennsylvania and their Wharton group, and basically both WRDS and Nasdaq Data Link, they're not providing all of the data. They're not gathering it is what I mean. They're instead more like a data supermarket, if you will. They aggregate the data and then they sell customers access to those…
