Professional Matchmaker & Executive Recruiter | Consultant & Problem Solver | Veteran | Business Owner

The Rivet Group has partnered with a niche telecommunications company to hire a wireless engineer for their installation business. Our client is growing – with a big backlog of projects across the country and they are looking for the right teammates to join them. Culturally, our client is mission-driven with a reputation you can be proud to represent.

Our client designs, installs, services, and operates large-scale Wi-Fi networks for customers across the US. They anticipate most of their projects will be in the Southeastern US and would prefer their engineer to live in the Southeast to facilitate faster travel. (Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee.) Ideally near a major airport.

The right candidate should have several years of experience designing and supporting wireless network infrastructure (WLAN, WAN, WWAN, IoT), commercially or in the military. Expertise with software and hardware – firewalls, switches, routers, wireless controllers and cabling.

What they need you to do:

Review, design and oversee installation of wireless network infrastructure. Travel to customer sites to perform assessments to aid in the design of networks, and to work with the installation team onsite. They are looking for people who want to be part of a team, like to do quality work, learn new skills, and develop as a professional. Travel in the US (and potentially internationally in the future) will be >80% (company-paid).

What you should bring to the table to be successful in this role:

  • 2+ years of experience in network installations.
  • Understand network connectivity and troubleshooting.
  • The ability to read and interpret design drawings and suggest solutions as installations present challenges.
  • Project management experience.
  • Strong ability to communicate highly technical information to various stakeholders.
  • Solve problems relating to mission-critical services and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Cisco & Ruckus networking, a CCNA is a plus.
  • Since many of their projects are at secure sites, the ability to routinely pass a background check and drug screening. (Even if it’s legal where you are, my client’s customers are contractually not “420 friendly.”)

What our client offers:

  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • High growth + financial stability.
  • A huge opportunity to grow your career with them.

How to Apply:

Start with applying for this job post. If I like your background for the role or would like to know more about you, we’ll set up a time to talk. The next step is a conversation with the hiring manager, and then meeting the rest of the team. We’re trying to move fast while deliberately looking for the right candidates who will be successful in this role.
