A client of ours is a Global Real Estate Investment Firm that has been in High Growth and is currently seeking to hire an VP of Tax, reporting to Head of Tax and CFO. The head of tax will be retiring and seeking to find a successor. This individual will drive Domestic and International Taxation - Planning, Reporting, Structuring, and Tax Operations.
Job description/Responsibilities
Drive all aspects of tax reporting, planning, structuring, and compliance
Manager REIT Monitoring, Reporting, and Compliance
Responsible for tax risk, disclosures, and forecasting.
Work with outside advisors
Monitor legislative changes in tax laws that may impact the firm’s tax positions
Advising Executive and Deal Team on the tax implications of their business objectives, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden
Requirements
Bachelors and Master's degree in Tax or Accounting is preferred
JD, LLM, CPA/MBA and/or MST not required (strongly preferred)
Direct Global Taxation - Inbound and Outbound needed
Real Estate, REIT, Private Equity experience (required)
15 + years of Real Estate Financial Services Taxation required
Publicly Traded Real Estate Taxation is needed
