VP, Corporate Controller - dynamic CRE developer

RealREPP, a full-service, nationally recognized recruiting firm is currently teaming with a stable, innovative real estate developer to assist them in hiring a VP, Corporate Controller in undefined, undefined.

We are seeking a strategic thinker to lead the accounting team and be a strategic thought partner to the CFO and executive team advising and influencing business decisions and growth initiatives across the enterprise. Possessing both strong business and financial acumen you will bring critical thinking and strong enterprise leadership, supporting the execution of strategic initiatives and growth of the business.

This role offers a phenomena base salary + target bonus, excellent benefits (medical, dental, vision), 401K with a 6% match, excellent PTO package and the ability to truly take ownership of this team and work with top C-level executives.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for overall accounting operations and monthly reporting including, but not limited to, a rollup of partners’ interests in a holding company for multiple projects including an audit thereof, partner/project tax issues, and quarterly investor reporting which may include review of cash flow projections
• Generating consistent project level financial statements and consolidated financial statements, monthly and completing monthly actual to budget variance analyses
• Establish and oversee implementation of effective managerial and financial controls, tracking timeliness and accuracy of project reporting, GAAP to cash reconciliations and vice versa
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury functions, including bank reconciliations at the parent company level and at the project level accounts
• Review all cash disbursements/ investment requests and ensure they are within the budget
• Provide support to the Finance leaders in terms of accounting compliance – GAAP/FASB
• Produces, updates, maintains, and monitors accounting procedures, calendars and checklists o Including creating work flow of processes and IT systems workflow within Sage
• Creating and documenting processes to train and on-board new hires on the team
• Ensuring uniformity across projects: (i) chart of accounts usage (ii) generating similar reports, (iii)
• Create internal auditing programs/routines to ensure records are accurately maintained while consistently following policies and procedures to align with the department’s annual external audit exercise.
• Any other tasks necessary to accomplish the departmental and project goals, including evaluating new systems implementation or evaluating and optimizing existing systems
  
  
  

Skills & Qualifications

• BA in an accounting or business-related field / knowledge of real estate, specifically development
• 18+ years of work experience in accounting and financial management
• CPA required
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial statement preparation
• Strong organizational skills
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Multi-tasking and time management skills to organize workflow and manage multiple deadlines
• Power user skills with Excel in spreadsheet usage and creation for financial budgets, analysis, and forecasting.
• Sage Intact, ProCor or other accounting and development accounting software
