Summary


We are looking for a strategic, proactive, and highly executional Vice President of Procurement to establish and run a comprehensive procurement program which delivers products and services to Phoenix3 Holdings portfolio companies and to external clients in the food and beverage industry or other distributive services. The role will provide competitive procurement, pricing, and value to client organizations while functioning as an Access GPO [Group Purchasing Organization]. The VP of Procurement will negotiate sourcing contracts, acquire goods and services, optimize the supply chain, and drive revenue to the business. Additionally, the VP of Procurement will be responsible for optimizing the raw material spending for the portfolio companies.


This role reports to the Chief Executive Officer of Supply Chain and Services.

You have extensive sourcing experience leading negotiations directly with suppliers for key categories in the food, services and related supply areas with a track record of providing incremental value for your organization and customers

You have extensive experience building, managing and optimizing Access GPO contracts and relationships either as a customer to a GPO or as an employee of a GPO.

You are familiar with Access GPO tools and software to optimize the business.

Key Responsibilities:


Source goods and services.

Proactively utilize a deep understanding of relevant supply markets including distribution channels, cost structures, economics, trends, etc. to negotiate, manage and maintain a comprehensive portfolio of agreements with distributors, manufacturers and service providers on a national, regional, and local level that address the supply needs of our portfolio companies and external clients

Develop and document a defined strategy for each category in your portfolio.

Incorporate your deep understanding of a GPO’s business model/processes into these strategies.

Develop a knowledgeable understanding of our customer target markets, inclusive of current and potential customers, to provide a supply chain offer that fully addresses the needs of the markets we choose to be active in.

Approve all category strategies to ensure consistent application of defined strategies across contracts.

Identify new opportunities or categories to support business requirements.

Take ownership of all aspects of large contracts.

Serve as category expert to clients as requested for responsive account management and in support of sales.

Address competitive issues within categories directly or with the respective contract owner through improvements in supply chain design, pricing strategies (including applicable distribution margins), allowances and marketing considerations, supplier positioning/mix, new product introduction, product/service innovation, etc.

Partner to provide raw materials prices to accurately cost meals / menus, products and offers, as well as develop accurate budgets

Generate incremental sources of revenue.

Control expenses.


Pursue growth opportunities with external customers for our supply chain and services business.

Proactively identify new areas in which we can grow our business as both an Access GPO and a provider of services to external clients to include supply categories, geographies or customer segments, and strategic partnerships and relationships that offer growth opportunities.

Research and develop identified opportunities and assess the fit with our supply chain.

Understand if the opportunity would align well with our current GPO business and enable future growth.

Support the development of a detailed business case that includes: a pro-forma P&L; considerations on the impact to the existing GPO business; an outline of the resources required to enter the new market; a plan for the resources required to manage the activity once implemented.

Support the opportunity through implementation.


Leadership:

Act as a steward of our brand in both the GPO and services space while networking to identify and promote opportunities internally and externally.

Foster a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement within the company

Measure and ensure that operational excellence is consistently pervasive in field operations.

Earn a reputation for delivering operational excellence tied to visible, organizational outcomes for customers, clients, and internally.

Effectively orchestrate best practice change-management processes.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to Strategic Supply Chain Management associates.


Financial Management:

Collaborate with operations and finance teams to set budgets and control costs

Collaborate with sales to develop innovative offers and programs with pricing strategies that attract clients and maintain profitability without compromising on quality.


Requirements:


Bachelor's degree in a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience.

Strong leadership experience and ability to implement and manage change.

Demonstrated effective communication and organizational skills.

Proficient in budgeting, forecasting, and GPO management / supply chain software tools.

Proven ability to lead teams and projects which span multiple site locations.

Detail orientation and the ability to work under short timelines.



Physical Requirements:


Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to work in a high-temperature environment.

Capable of lifting heavy equipment and ingredients.

Ability to travel to client’s or other multi-state sites up to 30% of the time.
