The Vice President of Procurement will be a member of the NA EMT as well as the Group SCM/Procurement Team and will lead our North American Strategic Procurement initiatives. This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies to ensure optimal efficiency and cost-effectiveness across our North American operations. This role will also involve aligning North American procurement strategies with global initiatives to support company-wide goals. The VP of Procurement will operate within a matrix reporting structure, collaborating closely with stakeholders to align objectives across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Develop, drive and execute cost reduction initiatives (direct and indirect spend) in line with budget.
Develop and execute regional procurement strategies aligned with Group Procurement/SCM functions.
Determine optimal buying channels (suppliers, distributors, make/buy), in alignment with stakeholders where applicable.
Establish targets and guidelines for commodity strategies aligned with Group objectives.
Review, approve, and oversee the development and execution of commodity strategies.
Monitor supplier performance (cost and supply) and adjust strategies and buying channels as necessary.
Develop and implement sourcing strategies, including supplier lifecycle management.
Set targets and boundaries for sourcing strategies.
Define standards, procedures, and guidelines for sourcing in alignment with Group functions.
review, approve, and authorize supplier contracts according to authorization protocols.
Evaluate sourcing and contracting activities, implementing corrective measures when required.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (such as finance, operations, and legal teams) to ensure alignment and support for procurement strategies.
Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers and partners to leverage strategic advantages and foster innovation.
Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement strategies and operations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes, systems, and practices.
Anticipate and mitigate risks related to procurement and supply chain operations.
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; MBA preferred.
10 or more years of experience in Global Supply Chain & Sourcing
Leadership experience in international matrix environments
Deep understanding of procurement best practices
Experience with managing integrated value streams.
Automotive, special vehicles, machinery and/or other engineered product experience is preferred.
Strong strategic thinking, leadership abilities and negotiation, verbal and written communication skills
Professional Certifications is preferred (I.E. CSCP, CPM)
