Cassia, a faith-based, nonprofit senior living organization that provides healthcare services and housing to aging adults, is hiring a Part-Time Vice President of Spiritual Life to join our team. Our ideal candidate will have a Masters of Divinity Degree and be in good standing with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
In this role, you will be responsible for deepening spiritual life within our ministry by advising corporate leadership and guiding Cassia site administrators, residence directors, director-level spiritual care leaders, and others. You will help employees determine a vision for Spiritual Life that is integrated into care models, staff development, fund development, and organizational identity.
We are seeking a sincere and compassionate chaplain who will strive to live out our mission of glorifying God in the work that we do.
Responsibilities:
Lead and support chaplains and other spiritual life leaders within Cassia.
Meet with members of the Cassia Leadership Team to provide support and care.
Broaden and deepen spiritual life within Cassia, which includes providing devotions, mission moments, and Spiritual Life tools at every Leadership and board meeting.
Partner with member and other congregations and social ministry organizations.
Ensure the worship and devotional life is consistent with the Christian faith as well as with the guidelines and practices of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Serve as a liaison between Cassia and area ministerial groups, parishes, congregations, synagogues, etc. as well as the local synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, serving as a promoter and interpreter of Cassia’s mission, vision, and values
Participate in ELCA synodical functions as appropriate
Help recruit, train, and evaluate and support chaplains and Spiritual Life team members
Perform additional tasks as needed.
Requirements:
Masters of Divinity Degree required (curriculum includes 1 unit of Clinical Pastoral Education)
Must be ordained or commissioned by and in good standing with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America
Must be rostered for Ecclesiastical endorsement and eligible for Call to Specialized Ministry
Completion of 4 units of Clinical Pastoral Education from a professional pastoral care organization preferred.
Board Certification by the Association for Professional Chaplains preferred.
