Vice President, Business Development

Position Overview: Hive Group is a fast-growing company looking for a Vice President of Business Development to oversee all Hive Group’s Business Development pipeline to include creating and managing the company pipeline, qualifying opportunities, leading capture/proposal efforts, and managing the business development team.

Role and Responsibilities: Activities include, but are not limited to, performing the following activities: Creating and developing a short, medium and long term pipeline for Hive Group Understanding the vision of growth and positioning the organization to best achieve those goals Represent company at networking events, conferences, and other industry events by promoting the organization, dialoguing with potential partners and clients, and recruiting talent Ensure that TCV goals and objectives are met Mentoring business development staff growth Leading the gate reviews for proposal opportunities Overseeing and managing the Business Development team to include performance management responsibilities Coordinating, planning, and executing account plans for Civilian, DoD, and Homeland account areas Creating and installing a capture process and strategy for Hive Group Targeting and winning work in new agencies to Hive Group Developing strong relationships within the market and recommending strategic partnerships for Hive Group’s growth needs Mature business development, capture, and proposal processes to be consistent with large business best practices Ensure Hive Group is positioned to compete in unrestricted market within 3 years Coordinating directly with corporate senior leadership, recommending investment needs, target areas of relationship development, staffing needs, process revisions, etc.

Minimum Requirements: 15+ years of Business Development experience 5+ years of creating, managing, and overseeing a business development team Experience winning work within Civilian, DHS, DoD, and Intel Proven ability to meet and exceed corporate growth targets Willingness to travel outside the DMV area in support of capture efforts Ability and experience developing corporate tools, templates, and procedures to properly execute in both a small and unrestricted environment Knowledge and ability to provide direct capture and proposal management support Desired Skills & Key Attributes Experience taking a company from a set-aside to unrestricted environment Strong relationships within the DoD or Intel environment Experience supporting companies with corporate capabilities in SETA, PMO, and acquisition support Strong public speaking acumen Hive Group is an Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer dedicated to making all employment decisions without regard to race, color, sex (includinggender and transgender status), age, religion, national origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, registered domestic partner or civil union status, gender identity, medical condition, genetic information, sexual orientation, or any other protected status in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
