We are hiring a Manager of Variable Compensation. As a key member of our organization, you will help lead and manage our global, company-wide Employee Bonus Program. Your expertise will be crucial in several areas from overseeing the annual timeline and governance to preparation of financial accruals and bonus payments. What You Will Be Doing:

  • Leading and acting as a subject matter expert in several areas of broad-based compensation, all while engaging with HR Business Partners and business leaders to diagnose compensation opportunities.
  • Guided by Steelcase's compensation philosophy and principles, you will optimize the total reward program to support our overarching company goals.
  • As a leader in initiatives related to variable compensation and large projects, including the global Employee Bonus Plan, you will be instrumental in driving strategy and implementing ongoing process and system improvements.
  • As our company progresses, you will have an opportunity to take on a variety of compensation-related responsibilities, such as supporting reorganizations, market research, and supporting the implementation of a new HRIS system.


Your Future Team:

You will work with a dynamic and hardworking global team consisting of compensation colleagues from various regions of the World and numerous departments throughout the organization. The team supports and empowers each other in leading compensation initiatives for the company through an inclusive environment that values collaboration, innovation, and diversity.


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of applicable experience required (variable compensation, incentive compensation, salaried, hourly/ mgf, recognition & reward, total rewards, etc.)
  • Strong consultative skills
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret and communicate data
  • Leadership skills
  • Results-oriented and takes initiative
  • Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with FLSA and other applicable employment laws and regulations


Preferred Skills and Competencies:

  • SAP HR or other HCM ERPs
  • Consulting firm experience
  • Multi-country compensation experience
