Job Description: User Researcher (Wearables for AR Glasses)

Meta is seeking an experience User Researcher to join their Ceres Hardware team in Sunnyvale, CA! This role will be joining the Ceres Hardware team that works on wrist wearables that enables control of AR glasses. The position will more heavily be focused in performing user studies but candidates must have product design knowledge (hardware or electrical engineering). We are looking for experienced individuals skilled in both quantitative and qualitative research methods, ranging from specialists to methodological generalists. From understanding people’s latent needs before we build products, to assuring the products we build deliver world class user experiences, to measuring the impact of our products once they are in use. The right candidates will be excellent communicators, knowledgeable about product design, passionate about understanding people, curious about the relationship between technology and society, comfortable in a flat, fast-moving organization, excited to collaborate, open-minded about learning new skills and methods, and focused on influencing the future of Meta


Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with product teams and other researchers to identify important research questions
  • Design and execute studies that address both user behavior and attitudes, using the right methodology for the right questions
  • Generate insights that shape how product teams think about medium and long-term product strategy
  • Work cross-functionally with design, product management, data science, content strategy, and engineering
  • Communicate insights in creative and compelling ways


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Product design knowledge within Hardware or Electrical Engineer
  • Experience executing experiments or collecting data
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods
  • Experience synthesizing large-scale data in multi-method studies
  • Experience with survey design and response effects
  • Python programming - writing up simple scripts to form a GUI for user study


Nice to Have (Not Require

  • Advanced Degree in Electrical or Hardware is preferred but not required
  • Software programming skills – simple scripts, able to debug simple scripts
  • Clear, concise communication skills to provide clear reports, can create 1 pagers
  • Failure analysis – problem solving
