Corporate Solutions Crisis Management is the fastest growing unit in North America. The team is looking to further expand, develop and launch new products.
North America Crisis Management Team is looking for a highly motivated person who is interested in working in a dynamic environment and helping to manage and grow an existing portfolio. Specifically, you will be responsible for the generation of opportunities, underwriting and pricing of risks, steering of your portfolio, managing of relationships as well as contribute to key strategy discussions within the group. The candidate should be able to manage multiple tasks while executing on an underwriting, growth and profitability strategy for the unit.
About The Role
This position offers a unique opportunity to join a growing team within Corporate Solutions. The position will report directly to the unit head and consists of the following functions:
Source and generate new business opportunities; small, middle market and large/complex risks
Underwrite renewal and new risks
Provide sound pricing analysis based upon thorough review of loss scenarios
Provide key input into risk appetite as well as market feedback
Develop, nurture and grow relationships with key producers and brokers
Service book of business in a timely fashion
Interact with claims, contacts, products to underwriter to open claims, losses, make recommendations on manuscript wordings to address ambiguities in coverage

Develop, nurture and grow relationships with key producers and brokers
Manage complex accounts, and deliver innovative solutions to existing and prospective clients
Inherit existing renewal book while building a new portfolio
The work location for this role is flexible to Chicago, IL, Kansas City, MO, or Alpharetta, GA.
About You
Educational/Professional
University graduate with a primary or higher degree (or equivalent)
Minimum 3 to 5 years underwriting experience or equivalent for Underwriter level
Understanding of loss and combined ratios
Experience in product contamination and recall is not required but helpful
Key skills and knowledge
Excellent analytical and communication skills
Ability to drive the deal process with brokers and generate a plus 20% hit ratio
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to inspire and challenge others
Capable of building trust with all areas of the business in particular internally with other underwriters and externally with brokers
Ability to provide market feedback and help hone division wide growth and profitability strategy
Excellent command of English (spoken and written)
Stress resilient, with the ability to work independently
Demonstrate personal accountability for area of responsibility
Occasional travel (almost exclusively domestic)
Team player: ability to interact and collaborate with others is critical
For New York City the estimated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $192,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
