Company Overview: Our client, a highly respected and growing law firm, is seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Associate to join their dynamic Trusts & Estates practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney with a passion for estate planning and tax law to advance their career. Location: Chicago or St. Louis- Hybrid Work Schedule Position: Trusts & Estates Associate – Estate Planning and Tax Experience Required: 3+ years in estate planning, probate, and trust administration Qualifications:
Missouri law or Illinois Law license required
Significant experience with income, estate, gift, GST, and other tax laws
Expertise in estate/wealth planning techniques, including preparation of related documents (revocable/irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorneys, etc.)
Proven ability to draft premarital agreements
Strong research and analysis skills in complex state law and federal tax law issues
Superior written and verbal communication skills
Experience with the preparation of Tax returns including 706's and 1055's
LLM in Taxation is preferred but not required Responsibilities:
Counsel families and individuals on the administration and disposition of their estates
Develop and implement both basic and sophisticated lifetime, estate, and charitable planning strategies
Prepare and review legal documents related to estate planning and tax law
Conduct thorough research and provide analysis on various legal and tax issues
Draft and negotiate premarital agreements
Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations Skills and Attributes:
