The Treasury Manager is responsible for owning the liquidity and collateral management function for Legal & General America and its associated legal entities. This role demands leadership experience, business partnering and project management skills, and the ability to develop and implement policies and frameworks. The Treasury Manager will manage a small team of analysts responsible for routine and ad-hoc analyses and management information. This role will partner closely with internal stakeholders including local business management, finance functional management, and corporate functions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, implementation and ongoing monitoring of US business liquidity framework. This including overseeing a small team working on aggregation of data for pro forma and actuals analyses, preparation of materials for lines of business and corporate functions, and real time review of business impacts.
  • Act as a local lead and key supporter to our corporate function’s reviews of business revel returns on cash-consuming activities.
  • Collaborate with internal partners (FP&A, Lines of Business, Business Insights team) to lead operational liquidity forecasting and budgeting tasks, including collection of stakeholder inputs, processing management reporting and routine variance analytics.
  • Improve ability to forecast and manage liquidity for LGA and its associated legal entities and separate accounts.
  • Develop, maintain, and monitor compliance with liquidity and collateral policies and frameworks for LGA and its associated legal entities and separate accounts.
  • Lead all aspects of compliance with LCR requirements from our corporate function.
  • Develop solutions for liquidity provisioning, such as use of repo agreements, asset financing structures, and FHLB borrowing.
  • Collaborate with our corporate function, the capital management team and performance team to plan for and provision liquidity upstream to our corporate function via dividend payments, surplus financing or other solutions.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

  • BA/BS with major/concentration in a business and/or quantitative field preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), MBA, or credentialed actuary (ASA or FSA) preferred, but not necessary.

Experience

  • 10-15 years in a finance, accounting, or actuarial role, preferably within the life insurance industry.
  • Treasury, liquidity or collateral management experience preferred.

Skills Required

  • Strong analytical, project management, business partnering and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize to meet tight deadlines.
  • Diligent while still being able to see the big picture.
  • Flexibility when working with changing deliverables.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity.

What’s in it for you?

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $121,000 - $166,450 annually.

This role will be working in a hybrid environment. Candidates within a commutable distance to Stamford, CT or Frederick, MD will receive preference.

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses. This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. The current target payment for the position is 20% of base salary, modified for corporate and individual performance. Bonuses are pro-rated based on start date. This role has 20 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
