Essential Functions

  • Oversight and monitoring of the proprietary and customer trading activity
  • Responsible for daily settlements with DTC and NSCC, and reconciliation of bank accounts used by the firm
  • Assist the P&S department in resolving trade breaks with correspondents and trading accounts.
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and compilation of all other regulatory monthly reporting
  • Closely monitoring the firms accounts for trading activity that appears unusual
  • Working closely with compliance and accounting areas on reconciling all trading activity
  • Help optimize all back-office processes and assist with trading projects related to process improvement
  • Senior Manager role will have management duties overseeing the operations team
  • All other duties as assigned

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in the areas of Finance or Accounting
  • FINRA Securities licenses Series 7 and/or Series 99 preferred

Knowledge And Skills

  • A minimum of 3+ years of operations experience in a trading or brokerage environment
  • Proficient understanding of equities day trading is a plus
  • Analytical, quantitative mindset with a keen attention to detail

Trade Processing

  • Assist in trade matching and trade reconciliation processes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of trade settlements and settlements issues.
  • Monitor and manage trade lifecycle events, including confirmations and settlements.

DTC Activities

  • Handle stock loan activities, including borrows and returns.
  • Balance orders related to Depository Trust Company (DTC) transactions.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of DTC processes and requirements.

Margin Management

  • Familiarity with the fundamentals of margin, including Reg T, House, and Exchange requirements.
  • Monitor and respond to margin calls, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Calculate and manage buying power for clients' margin accounts.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Process Bluesheets and ensure accurate regulatory reporting.
  • File short interest reports as required by Reg SHO.
  • Assist in managing buy-in procedures in compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Clearing Operations

  • Work with FINRA Automated Guarantee and Execution System (AGU) for NYSE and NASDAQ.
  • Engage with NSCC (National Securities Clearing Corporation) for QSR (Qualified Special Representative) and Correspondent Clearing activities.
  • Ensure accurate clearing and settlement of trades.

Back-Office Platform

  • Utilize the FIS back-office platform for trade processing and reconciliation.
  • Familiarity with the features and functions of the FIS system.
