We are in search of a Telecommunications Specialist to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. This role primarily involves the maintenance and upgrade of Voice Mail and other electronic Voice related messaging systems, designing solutions for the telecommunications enterprise, and troubleshooting wired and wireless telephony equipment.
Responsibilities
Maintain and upgrade Voice Mail and other electronic Voice related messaging systems
Design solutions for the telecommunications enterprise
Troubleshoot and maintain wired and wireless telephony equipment
Understand and troubleshoot networking equipment
Formulate new procedures and coordinate convergence software and hardware installations
Document engineering standards and proposals or recommendations for all convergence designs/implementations
Maintain an inventory of equipment, supplies and spare parts
Assist in educating end users with telephony equipment and software installations
Understand BICSI standards and best practices in a converged voice/data enterprise environment
Participate in the evaluation and recommendation of new technologies
Proactively research and locate necessary tools and processes to identify troublesome trends
Prepare written documentation of the need for application changes or replacements, and coordinate staff and manage project plans for their implementation
Participate in, develop, implement, document and validate comprehensive test plans complying with current standards
Function as a liaison to the system users and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical requirements, data flows and process flows
Participate in the system selection process, including needs assessment, RFP and vendor selection
Perform other duties as required, including 3rd level networking support and on-call support if applicable.
Requirements
Proficient in Avaya CMS and Zoom
Familiar with Crystal Reports
Experience with Management Systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of About Time software
Strong communication skills
Excellent customer service abilities
Experience with documentation procedures
Telecommunications Specialist experience is preferred
