Telecommunications Contract & Supplier Manager Support

Location: Richmond, VA - local candidates ONLY, must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident
Position Type: Hybrid - 5 days per week to start and then
4 days per week onsite with 1 day remote
Contract Length: 6 months, with full-time opportunity possible

Position Overview:
The selected candidate will work closely with existing staff to understand the needs and operations of the unit and will provide coverage when these individuals are out of the office. Through training, the individual will learn to act as a subject matter expert for efforts related to the procurement of Telecommunications Contracts (all aspects, wireless, wireline, broadband, and network). The selected candidate will learn to assist in the procurement of the best services for their needs. Further, the position will provide input & support for the upkeep of the Telecommunications website, including updates to pricing. The individual will assist with the creation and the maintenance of the team's documentation and will assist with the physical location management of contracts and distribution to appropriate parties.

Duties:
  • Assist with documentation, oversight, and contract and supplier management for Telecommunications Contracts.
  • Managing Telecommunications Contracts & Suppliers (a solid foundation in this area is required)
  • Evaluating and suggesting contract language and making associated recommendations
  • Assisting with the management of Supplier performance issues
  • Understanding how services must work together to meet the end-to-end business needs of the customer
  • Experience understanding and applying Service Level Agreements, and Reports to manage Supplier performance and adherence to contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use technology to convey issues and oversee work
  • Demonstrated experience developing and documenting processes and using VISIO, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint (or similar tools)
  • Demonstrated high level verbal and written communications skills
  • Experience working with and influencing stakeholders throughout all levels throughout their organization, supplier's organizations, and customer's organizations
  • Demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple simultaneous efforts
  • Experience working with matrixed teams
Required Skills:
  • 3 years of experience with Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint (or similar tools)
  • 1 year of experience with Flowcharting (Visio or similar)
  • 2 years of experience with updating web-page pricing & available devices, performing data entry, managing artifacts in SharePoint, managing supplier deliverables
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) to work with all levels within the organization and with the supplier organizations
  • Excellent research and analytical skills to research contract proposals, solutions to operational issues, etc.
Preferred Skills:
  • Telecommunications Contracts and Operations
  • Knowledge of the VPPA - Virginia's Public Procurement Act. Ability to understand legislation and application to technology contracts (training available)
  • SLA (Service Level Agreements) and Supplier Performance Management
