Role Title: Technical Support Specialist  

 

FLSA Category: Non-Exempt 

 

Role Location: Hybrid 

 

Reporting Relationships: 

 

This position reports to Vice President of Cloud Infrastructure. 

 

Role Summary and Responsibilities: 

 

Technical Support Specialists provide support for the desktop environment including responsibility for deployment of Desktop/Laptop and other peripherals and when applicable physical server/network equipment installation, configuration, application installation, troubleshooting, incident, and request handling. 

 

Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions: 

 

  • Install and configure hardware and software. 
  • Respond to tickets in accordance with SLA guidelines. 
  • Record, track, and document the help desk request problem solving process including actions taken through to the final resolution. 
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests and issues. 
  • Repair and replace equipment as needed. 
  • Provide onsite and remote support to end users. 
  • Assist in AV setups as needed for meetings. 
  • Set up new workstations for users (deploying equipment, checking over account setups). 
  • Heavy use of Windows and Mac OS devices. 
  • Ability to work in Active Directory / Azure Entra ID. 
  • Understanding of Cisco Meraki. 
  • Create documentation for staff for training purposes. 

 

Non-Essential Functions 

 

  • Other duties, as assigned. 

 

Qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or Associate’s degree plus two years of tech support experience, or three plus years tech. support experience. 
  • HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, and general knowledge of liability matters related to medical practice. 
  • IT and network management, including PC and terminal-based resource delivery; network infrastructure; Azure cloud host utilization and deployment; and 3rd party management of deliverables. 
  • IT experience in infrastructure, break fix workstations, Networking/Server/Datacenter, Security, Cloud, MS Office 365, compliance, active directory. 
  • Telecommunications, including delivery of dial tone, wide area network, virtual private network, and remote access functionality. 
  • Administrative and management principles regarding leadership techniques. 
  • Registrar configuration, transfers for sites like GoDaddy and register.com, working knowledge of DNS and domain name record types. 
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required. 

 

Physical Requirements 

 

  • Mainly sedentary. 
  • Sitting at the desk most of the day. 
  • Standing or walking less than two hours per day. 
  • Lifting no more than ten pounds on rare occasions. 
  • Must be able to work at a computer and answer phone calls on a regular basis. 

 

Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role. 

 

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
