Technical Lead | Series A Start Up

Currently working with a Series A insurance company who is looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to work on their B2B platform which has an AI risk engine that streamlines underwriting processes and a insurance marketplace. In general, they’ve created technology to improve business processes and cost savings for insurance companies, and in turn, creating far better experiences for customers of insurance companies they partner with. They’ve been experiencing success and are now growing in both the US and internationally!

Currently the US team is 4 people and this Lead Engineer will work on growing the offshore backend development team in India. In this role, you’ll work with the team in India to complete backend development projects, will be responsible for hands-on platform implementations, work closely with the business and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions, and will guide backend technology engineering for all current and future products. As this is a Series A firm, we are looking for someone who has strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage an offshore engineering team, ensuring effective collaboration and execution.
• Lead the design and development of complex software systems and applications, particularly focusing on AWS Cloud and microservices architecture.
• Hands on writing maintainable and efficient code using Java and Python, adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Participate in code reviews, offering constructive feedback and ensuring code quality.
• Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and implement new features and enhancements.
• Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring system performance and reliability.
• Demonstrate a passion for customer success by delivering software solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Actively seek and incorporate user feedback to enhance the product experience.
• Identify areas for improvement in the existing codebase and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of software systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a strong background in developing complex software systems.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java and Python.
• Extensive experience with AWS Cloud services and microservices architecture.
• Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
