What You'll Do

We are seeking a Product Manager to lead the development, evolution and sustainment of several hardware and software products for military and government applications. In this role you will direct the product lifecycle and order fulfilment of capabilities within Viasat’s Tactical Communication Solutions group. You will work with a variety of engineering teams (system architects, electrical design, software, mechanical, engineering analysis, special test equipment, integration and test), manage schedule and performance risk, meeting commitments and anticipating and circumventing problems. Additionally, you'll develop customer relationships and working effectively with functional areas within the company, and will lead, advise and motivate cross-discipline teams across multiple organizations and geographic sites.

The day-to-day

• Working both internally and externally to lead the development efforts of groundbreaking technology for networking, communications and security for global defense forces
• Lead proposal teams to capture new business and grow the current product line
• Study market trends to assist in the development of product roadmaps and market strategies
  
  
  

What You'll Need

• 5+ years experience with product lifecycle
• Experience with Program Management supporting government programs, with experience managing the product lifecycle of a system.
• Proven knowledge and experience with project and product management methodologies
• Proven experience working with suppliers and subcontractors as an integral part of the deliverables
• Consistently supervise and lead the program level milestones, risks, issues and decisions
• Extensive problem solving skills, and ability to drive resolutions to a close Manage program communications internally to teams and externally to customers
• Supervise and assess customer satisfaction, quality and profitability Demonstrated organization skills to manage multiple facets of a large-scale project and to track progress for several programs and products at once
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to liaise with all levels in the organization
• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• US Government position. US Citizenship required
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Ability to travel up to 25%
  
  
  

What Will Help You On The Job

• 10+ years experience with government program management
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience with networking and communication capabilities.
• Demonstrated experience leading Defense development programs Active PMP Certification
• Familiarity with security/cyber technologies
• Experience with leading and writing Government proposals
• Experience with encryption devices and commercial solutions for classified (CSfC) and their certification processes
  
  
  

Salary range

$156,700.00 - $272,700.00 / annually
