General James M. Gavin Power Plant is a 2,600-megawatt supercritical coal-fired power station in the village of Cheshire, Ohio, United States. It is owned by Lightstone Generation LLC, a 50–50 joint venture of The Blackstone Group L.P. and ArcLight Capital.
The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for all supply chain functions of the plant. Administers the plant's inventory program and identifies the need for improvements and increased capabilities. This position ensures that the inventory of parts and equipment is complete and accurate.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Maintain records of all fixed assets and purchase requisitions and obtain all necessary signatures. Ensures departments follow all company policies and procedures.
Deal directly with vendors to place orders and follow up on deliveries. Manages all receiving, storage and issue of inventory items, materials and tools/equipment ordered by purchase order or furnished by a contractor.
Conduct inventory counts, and correct discrepancies with appropriate approval. Operate Company automotive equipment such as cars and trucks. Assist in the training of other employees. Direct the work of employees assigned to assist.
Assure all received items are thoroughly inspected, accounted for, documented, and stored.
Implement all purchasing and inventory management programs and procedures.
Maintain and utilize a management system for inventory control purposes.
Scope of Responsibility
This position operates from established and well-known procedures, performing duties under general supervision. Decisions are made within prescribed operating procedures and guidelines. This position encounters regular, recurring work situations of moderate complexity.
The Supply Chain Supervisor must maintain a professional, courteous relationship with vendors, work in a safe manner, and follow all environmental permits at all times. This position must effectively communicate information to management relative to the purchasing and supply chain processes, condition of the warehouse and availability of material. Focus on customer service within the plant supporting maintenance and operations teams.
All employees have the responsibility to both the customer and their co-workers to do the job right the first time and to ensure the customers' needs are being met.
Perform other similar duties as assigned.
Working Relationships
The Supply Chain & Procurement Supervisor reports to the Fleet Business Manager and cooperates with all plant personnel related to the supply chain process.
Requirements
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Physical requirements may include working on foot for extensive periods, requiring stair and ladder climbing; and routinely lifting 50 pounds. Protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, air masks, ear protection must be worn in the performance of some duties. Working with hazardous materials may be required.
Position may require extended working hours with the possibility of weekend and holiday work, as required by schedules, workload, and plant conditions. "On call" status will periodically be required.
All employees will participate in the Fitness for Duty Program. This program includes a post-offer physical examination and drug screening and post-employment random drug screening. There are extensive smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma is required, an associate degree or higher is desirable.
General accounting experience is highly desirable.
Purchasing experience is highly desirable.
Experience in warehouse work, including shipping, receiving and inventory control is desirable.
Experience in mechanical trade is desirable.
Must have strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience using computerized accounting software and inventory control systems is required.
