-Responsible for successfully managing the material operations process of a three shift factory.

-Working closely with shift supervisors to ensure that the activities of warehousing, shipping, receiving, service and handling of raw materials, to support production are executed.

-Activities include managing the process of safely receiving, unloading and put away functions of the department, to ensure efficiency and productivity.

-Responsible for managing Material Planning and Master Scheduling activities in support of manufacturing the requirements specified by corporate Supply Planning personnel. Managing exceptions and assisting in shortages by communicating to appropriate suppliers and internal -Purchasing Agents to achieve desired level of inventories to maintain high levels of schedule adherence.

-Responsible for planning daily Materials capacity, including material handling equipment, warehouse floor, and headcount.

-Provides direct interaction with all team members involved in Cycle Counting, Supplier Quality, I.E, Operations, Materials Receiving, Put Away, Warehousing, and Transfers.

-Responsible for training, leading, and motivating employees to perform at their highest levels to meet or exceed performance standards while maintaining Safety as the top priority.

-Collaborates on component engineering changes and coordinates into production when appropriate.

-Ensures inventory accuracy through process adherence and collaborates on root cause analysis to resolve and prevent inventory discrepancies.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute programs to ensure that workplace safety standards are met; ensures compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper material flow process from receiving dock, to warehouse storage location, to the production line feed location, to the delivery of finished product to customers
  • Collaborates with Electrolux Manufacturing System teams to recommend and implement, Material Flow techniques into production, such as two-bin system, mini market concepts, JIT, JIS as appropriate and based on EMS/MEP principles.
  • Understands and facilitates the use of 5-S processes to ensure the highest safety, quality and consistency are attainable to production.
  • Anticipates engineering changes to ensure ECN instructions are clear and compiled with; works with Planning and Purchasing to stop procurement of material affected by change, keeps Materials supervisors informed of ECN implementation status; coordinates proper rotation of inventory to minimize scrap/reworked parts.
  • Provides leadership and direction to materials supervisors, team leads, clerks, inventory control personnel, and material handlers, including external warehouses.
  • Coordination of local transportation activities related to Kinston Site, with the Transportation support area.
  • Responsible for applying all requirements related to EMS, ISO9001/14001/50001/Green Spirit according to the position.
  • The activities to be carried out include following energy management system information, indicated but not limited to:

Knowledge and understanding of the energy policy of the plant, which must follow and promote, as well as knowledge and identification of the Significant Energy Uses (SEUs) and its operational controls, maintenance, objectives, actions plans and energy indicators performance


QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Strong knowledge of production scheduling, warehouse, and material handling operations, methods, and practices.
  • Ability to coordinate with the Transportation area in all material pick up, transfers and deliveries from Local supplier base
  • Ability to develop personnel, including training, and work groups into high performing teams by visible leadership among all levels of associates.
  • Strong knowledge of computer based production scheduling activities with history of development of routings and communication skills to effectively lead change to various processes with no associated production downtime.
  • Knowledge on MAPICS and SAP systems is a plus.
  • Experience with lean and process improvement techniques.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment while maintaining professional demeanor.
  • Education: BS degree in Industrial/Operations Management or related business field is preferred.
  • Previous Experience: +5 years in management in materials and logistics areas
  • Responsible for applying all requirements related to EMS, ISO9001/14001/50001/Green Spirit according to the position.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone. This is a hands-on position, which will require a strong floor presence. Occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and handling of items up to 25 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position works in a typical office and production environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occasional work in a factory environment may be required. Occasional travel may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to wet and /or humid conditions, extreme heat, and risk of electrical shock. INTERNAL/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION

This position requires over 20% communication with external customers helping them trouble shoot any problems. This position requires the employee to communicate with internal and external vendors on a regular basis.
