Summary

As a Supply Chain Buyer, you will play a vital role in maintaining optimal customer service levels, efficient inventory management, and seamless communication with vendors and company branches. Your responsibilities include creating purchase orders, ensuring smooth information and goods flow, meeting service level agreements, and optimizing inventory turnover.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generate purchase orders to support timely replenishment of Distribution Centers.
  • Foster effective communication with assigned vendors and company branches.
  • Uphold agreed service levels to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Achieve or exceed inventory turnover objectives.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address issues promptly.
  • Coordinate returns for damaged or discontinued merchandise.
  • Proactively manage inventory levels and recommend transfers as needed.
  • Analyze missed demand and adjust inventory accordingly.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; ability to run SQL queries.
  • Strong analytical skills to derive insights from data.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Experience with Manhattan's Inventory Replenishment software is advantageous.
  • CPIM certification or equivalent is a plus.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Purchasing or Inventory Management.


Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; able to run SQL queries.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents. Proficient in documenting processes and procedures. Capable of presenting information effectively.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures, percentages, and apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Organizational Skills: Detail-oriented with excellent organizational techniques. Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Reasoning Ability: Capable of problem-solving, data analysis, and making sound business decisions.

Physical Demands: Primarily sedentary role with occasional standing, walking, and reaching.

Work Environment: Moderate noise level in a typical office environment.
