Summer Group Counselor

CGRC’s Extended School Year (ESY) Program is a summer program for approximately 5 weeks. The ESY program is a structured environment providing social skill interventions for children with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. The Extended School Year is a safe environment where students can learn and practice positive social skills.

Some responsibilities include:

• Provide age-appropriate recreational and therapeutic activities within the ESY program.
• Encourage positive peer social interactions throughout all activities.
• Introduce and practice social decision making/social problem solving concepts with students.
• Provide students opportunity for leadership and various roles within each activity and group.
• Model appropriate social interactions and decision making skills for students.
• Collaborate with directors to access needed materials and resources for behavioral plans and interventions.
