The Art League is a multi-faceted 501(c)(3) nonprofit visual arts organization. We comprise a large school, gallery, outreach programs, and an art supplies store.

The Art League needs a friendly and bright self-starter to support the daily functions of our school office. We are seeking a creative and organized individual to fill the role of Children's Summer Art Camp Manager. The manager will oversee all aspects of our visual art camp program, ensuring a fun, educational, and safe environment for children to explore their creativity. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, a passion for art and working with children, and the patience and good humor to manage families.

Responsibilities:

  • Program Development: In coordination with the school director, help book artist instructors to teach engaging art activities and projects for children from starting at age 5 through teen. Create a well-rounded curriculum that fosters creativity, self-expression, and artistic growth.
  • Staff Management: In coordination with the school director, train and supervise a team of camp interns/counselors. Provide guidance and support to ensure artist instructors are equipped to provide a positive camp experience for all participants.
  • Day-to-Day Operations: In coordination with the school director, oversee the summer art camp's daily operations, including scheduling, registration, and facility management. Ensure all activities run smoothly and according to the camp's policies and procedures.
  • Safety and Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment for campers and staff. Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations.
  • Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding camp activities, policies, and their child's progress. Address any concerns or inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Budget Management: Manage the camp budget effectively, including tracking expenses, sourcing materials, and optimizing resources to ensure the program remains financially viable.
  • Promotion and Outreach: Assist with marketing efforts to promote the art camp and attract participants. Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional materials, social media campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Education, Recreation Management, or related field.
  • Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting, preferably in an art-focused environment.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to manage a team and multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff members.
  • Knowledge of art techniques, materials, and processes suitable for children's art projects.
  • CPR/First Aid certification and background clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Passion for art education and a commitment to fostering creativity and self-expression in children.
