Position Summary
This is a part-time position that facilitates educational and administrative needs at the Pottery School. This includes general reception duties, measuring student work, basic bookkeeping duties, acting as primary contact regarding revenue collecting for the program services, handling general telephone inquiries and registering students for classes.
Primary Responsibilities
As of October 29, 2021, we are requiring all Greenwich House and Barrow Street Nursery School new hires to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to the start date.

Position Summary
This is a part-time position that facilitates educational and administrative needs at the Pottery School. This includes general reception duties, measuring student work, basic bookkeeping duties, acting as primary contact regarding revenue collecting for the program services, handling general telephone inquiries and registering students for classes.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work directly with Education Manager and other Student Liaisons.
- Assist with and complete special administrative projects as assigned such as proofreading, creating and updating class rosters, email list update and upkeep, etc.
- Assist with volunteer coordination and preparations for special events.
- Perform general reception duties including but not limited to maintaining a clean, orderly and professional reception office, retrieving phone and email messages, responding to general inquiries by phone and email, selling tools, assigning lockers, responding to student inquiries, etc.
- Understand, communicate and enforce studio policies and procedures.
- Maintain correct signage in designated locations throughout the building.
- Maintain the library.
- Monitor and manage payment plans, measure student work and collect firing fees.
- Register students for all programs including classes, lectures, workshops, etc.
- Open/close the building daily.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Assist with and conduct Gallery sales as needed, maintain tool sales inventory and prepare tool sales orders.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
- BFA in ceramics or equivalent knowledge.
- Minimum of two years full-time related professional experience and basic knowledge of and/or interest in ceramics.
- Excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills.
- A self-starter who is able to establish priorities when presented with multiple tasks, to modify plans and behavior when necessary to meet a goal and to work well without supervision.
- Ability to interact with a diverse student body, faculty and all levels of staff.
- Knowledge of community-based arts education programs.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds for occasional studio related assistance, or event preparation.
- Familiarity with Sawyer, the Adobe Suite, and/or Shopify platforms a plus
