We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Storage Engineer based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The role involves providing storage and server design and implementation of Storage Systems, working with clients to provide best-practices recommendations pertaining to virtualization and backup environment. The role also includes administration of storage systems in a Storage Area Network (SAN) and direct attached environment.
Responsibilities
Administer storage systems in a Storage Area Network (SAN) and direct attached environment
Provide storage and server design and implementation of Storage Systems
Work closely with clients to provide best-practices recommendations pertaining to virtualization and backup environment
Gain hands-on experience with NetApp Ontap
Handle Fiber Channel configuration and Network familiarity with NFS and iSCSI installations
Develop familiarity with Network Attached Storage (NAS) protocols (primarily NetApp)
Gain strong hands-on experience in shared storage environments – design and implementation
Familiarize with virtual server administration (VMware)
Learn about Cisco UCS environments
Understand tape and disk backup and recovery concepts
Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
Troubleshoot effectively and provide excellent customer service
Work in a team environment and train others
Utilize skills in Brocade Communications Systems, Cisco Technologies, Clariion, DELL EMC Technologies, EO/IR systems, Backup Technologies, Common Internet File System (CIFS), Computer Hardware, Configuration Management, Design
Requirements
Proficient in Brocade Communications Systems
Knowledgeable in Cisco Technologies
Experience with Clariion
Familiarity with DELL EMC Technologies
Proficient in EO/IR systems
Experience with Backup Technologies
Understanding of Common Internet File System (CIFS)
Proficiency in Computer Hardware
Familiarity with Configuration Management
Ability to Design
Storage Engineer experience or relevant role in the field
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Good organizational and time-management skills
BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
