STAFF to SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Are you looking for a growth opportunity? If so, our search firm has partnered with a fast-growing, entrepreneurial company to assist in their search for a Staff Accountant and a Senior Accountant to join their Finance team.


The person hired for each position will be a natural problem-solver who is independent, coachable, detail-oriented, and continually seeks process improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year end accounting close activities
  • Process/record daily cash transactions and update cash forecast accordingly
  • Perform account reconciliations on various general ledger accounts and use problem solving skills to research and remediate any reconciling differences
  • Oversee month-end close of assigned subledgers (i.e., Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Inventory)
  • Assist, as needed, with AP. AR, and Payroll
  • Perform monthly account analysis, research variances, and communicate insights with leadership
  • Use GAAP accounting expertise to serve on cross-functional project teams to provide accounting guidance for various projects and new initiatives across the business
  • Evaluate current processes and procedures and recommend changes
  • Perform ad-hoc projects, tasks, and analysis to help support decisions, resolve issues, or support various business needs
  • Participate in the annual financial statement audit by preparing requested workpapers/schedules


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with concentration in Accounting or Bachelor’s degree in business with 18+ hours of accounting credits completed
  • CPA, CMA, or CFE a plus
  • Public accounting audit experience a plus
  • Minimum 2 years (staff)/4 years (senior) of relevant accounting experience with solid understanding of general ledger and financial statements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Word
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills
  • Detail oriented with history of consistently meeting deadlines
