Job Description
As the Senior Materials Developer, you will support the materials team throughout the pre-season and in-season development phases. Acting as the vital link between design, merchandising, product development, and the fabric mills, you will play a crucial role in ensuring seamless collaboration and communication across teams. We are looking for an individual who is adaptable to a dynamic and evolving environment and will bring their excitement and passion for textiles and is adaptable to a dynamic and evolving environment. This individual would be responsible for trend research during the concept stage all the way through material commercialization. They should be interested in multiple material categories spanning knits and technical wovens and have extensive knowledge of material testing. We are seeking a strong communicator, independent self-starter, and collaborative team player to join our team.

Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000

Job Description
As the Senior Materials Developer, you will support the materials team throughout the pre-season and in-season development phases. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Strong background in both knits and woven material development with an interest in composites and outerwear.
- Lead in-season material development as well as long-lead and technical material innovation pipeline.
- Follow new fabric concepts through to commercialization approval process.
- Manage material submits for physical and digital library– filing, organizing, and accessibility.
- Responsible for the data integrity of the material tracker and PLM system.
- Establish and monitor time and action calendars to hit calendar milestones.
- Play a pivotal role in promoting an environment that encourages innovative thinking, collaboration, and teamwork.
- Create materials with sustainability in mind to track against sustainability metrics.
- Must possess strong knowledge of costing, garment construction, and all pre-production coordination.
- Woven & outerwear testing knowledge a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Manufacturing, Product Development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of fabric development experience is required and/or product management experience with an understanding record of managing product from concept to completion.
- International travel experience is a plus; international travel required
- Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items vary in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need.
- Bachelor’s degree in Textiles, Merchandising, Business, Engineering, Manufacturing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 6+ years of fabric development experience is required and/or product management experience with an understanding record of managing product from concept to completion.
- Sense of fashion and trend in relation to the market
- Extensive knowledge of materials used in the engineering and manufacturing processes used to build products
- Strong background in both knits and woven development with a focus on composites and outerwear
- Intermediate Computer Drawing skills for technical and construction detail sketches & related art using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop a plus
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft suite and excel
- Aptitude for systems and systematic work
- Must possess strong knowledge of costing, garment construction, and all pre-production coordination.
- International travel experience is a plus; international travel required
- Willing and able to work additional hours when needed.
- Bend, lift, open and move product and related office items varying in weight from 1 to 25lbs, depending on need.
Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000
