Sr. Global Buyer (Contract)

LHH Recruitment Solutions is supporting our client, a TOP 100 global automotive supplier, in Troy, MI that is seeking a Sr. Buyer. This is a Contract position thru end of 2024 and may extend into 2025, HYBRID (3 days on-site) and starts asap.

Responsibilities:

• Interaction with the program team, plant, suppliers, and customers; participation in relevant team meetings
• Multiple special projects to support
• Implementation of purchasing processes and objectives within the program
• Managing and communication of all purchasing issues related to the program, including engineering change orders
• Proposal of sourcing strategy in adherence with purchasing manager, duration of RFQ and lead on value analysis process, commercial negotiation, preparation of sourcing recommendation, finalization and negotiation of purchasing-related contracts and agreements with suppliers
• Managing commercial details on all purchasing parts
• Explore the market for new materials, supplies and processes in order to develop new sources and/or generate cost benefits and/or risk reductions
• Interaction with operations and current production facilities for supplier-related topics throughout the program life.

Software:

• SAP – highly preferred

Hours:

• Mon – Fri, 40 hours/week with 1 hour lunch (core hours are 9 AM – 4 PM, so want someone working between then but have some flexibility outside of this for start/end times)

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 3-5 years of experience in Purchasing
• Must have familiarity with Automotive industry

Compensation:

• Pay: $41 – 45.67/hour is the target (Can stretch up to $50/hour dependent on depth of experience)
