Position Overview
We are seeking 1-2 experienced researchers skilled in providing technical assistance to join our team as Senior Education Researchers & Technical Assistance Providers. This role involves developing and delivering cutting-edge technical assistance to address critical needs identified by education leaders at federal, state, and local levels. Additionally, you will contribute to research and evaluation across various education-related studies.
Location:
Ideal candidates will be within occasional commuting distance to our Arlington, VA office. Consideration will also be given to candidates in MD, KY, VA, and WV.
Responsibilities
Technical Assistance:
Identify evidence-based practices to meet educators' high-priority needs in areas such as college-career pathways, social-emotional learning, mental health, mathematics, literacy, and educator workforce.
Utilize expertise in needs assessment, logic model development, measurement planning, and adult learning principles.
Create clear, concise technical assistance materials, products, and reports.
Research/Evaluation
Lead complex data collection and analysis tasks, producing insightful summary reports.
Design research methodologies, using both quantitative and qualitative methods to investigate policy and practice impacts.
Analyze data effectively, employing data visualization techniques to communicate findings.
Project Management
Take a leadership role in successful project and proposal development for state, federal, foundation, or commercial clients.
Establish and manage project timelines and budgets effectively.
Qualifications
Doctorate in education, psychology, human services, public policy, or related field with at least 3 years of relevant experience; or master's degree with 6 years of related TA and research experience preferred.
Expertise in teaching quality, college-career pathways, equity in education, social-emotional learning, and digital learning policies.
Proven experience in large project leadership, training delivery, and technical support to diverse education stakeholders.
Demonstrated commitment to equity in education, particularly for marginalized student populations.
Experience with large federally funded contracts or cooperative agreements preferred.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively within teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to convey evidence-based practices to non-technical audiences.
Track record of significant contributions to publications, reports, or TA materials.
