This role is onsite (not remote) and based in our Corporate Office in Oakwood, GA approximately 45 north of Atlanta, GA.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Senior Director of Talent Management plays a key leadership role leading the Talent Management Center of Expertise. This role is responsible for driving the development, execution and adoption of enterprise-wide talent management practices and programs including organizational development, leadership development, training, performance management, succession planning and diversity and inclusion to enable performance excellence.

This role is responsible for setting the overall talent management strategy aligned to short and long-term organizational objectives, rooted in talent-oriented metrics, insights, and evidence-based best practices. This role is expected to drive the creation, implementation and management of talent management programs across multiple audiences, expanding organizational capabilities, sustaining a top-performing talent pipeline, and enriching the overall employee experience for our 26,000 employees.

This role will oversee a team dedicated to organizational development, learning and development, performance management and diversity and inclusion and will report to the Chief Human Resource Officer. This leader will work closely with Wayne-Sanderson Farm’s Senior Leadership team to ensure talent management solutions are strongly aligned with business strategy to enable business success.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Talent Management Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for enterprise-level talent practices from onboarding through succession planning, aligning them with the company’s goals and HR objectives while leveraging contemporary change management practices that drive adoption.
  • Learning and Development: Develop and sustain a comprehensive learning and development strategy to ensure that all program curricula and delivery models meet the ongoing needs of the organization. Oversee utilization and support of company’s LMS and Talent related applications, including awareness campaigns, regulatory compliance program maintenance, reporting & analytics. Ensure the evaluation of training effectiveness for all programs and interventions. Oversee the design, implementation and maintenance of managerial and leadership skill programs across all management tiers to promote leadership capabilities aligned with Wayne-Sanderson Farms’ Values and behavioral expectations.
  • Organizational Development: Support business stakeholders with organizational development strategies and solutions to increase efficiencies in department, function, and organizational design. Conduct organizational assessments to identify areas where the organization could improve its performance, culture, or structure. Lead the design and implementation of organizational development programs, policies and strategies customized to drive improvements in organizational productivity, employee engagement and overall organizational health. Facilitate change management efforts, including communications and training.
  • Performance Management: Drive the modernization and evolution of the performance management process, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and feedback mechanisms, ensuring effective implementation and continuous improvement, utilizing best-in-class methodologies and practices.
  • Succession Planning: Design and implement a comprehensive talent review process, fully leveraging HRIS capabilities. Partner with key stakeholders to define mission critical roles, performance requirements, and developmental programming necessary to ready potential successors. Partner with leaders and HR business partners to develop and maintain competency and skills matrices to foster career development and address capability needs across the talent lifecycle.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion: Develop and implement DEI strategies, initiatives, and action plans that align with our company’s values and business goals. Collaborate with HR, leadership, and various teams to integrate DEI principles into recruitment, hiring, onboarding, training, and career development processes. Establish and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of DEI programs and initiatives, regularly assessing progress.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analytics to track the effectiveness of talent practices, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvements. Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of talent management processes and programs and their impact on business performance, ensuring a data-driven approach when evaluating outcomes.
  • COE Management: Stay actively informed of industry best practices and emerging trends in talent management and HR technology, integrating relevant innovations into the Wayne-Sanderson Farms practices. Deepen business knowledge and partnerships to ensure the development and implementation of talent solutions that enable achievement of the business strategy. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including HR, IT, and Talent Acquisition to ensure seamless integration of talent practices and Workday solutions, maximizing the use technology for process enhancement.

SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

This role is a Leader of Leaders role with required competencies: Strategic Agility, Business Acumen, Building Effective Teams, Customer Focus and Command Skills

EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Design, Performance Technology, Adult Education, Human Resource Development or related field.
  • Microsoft O365 expertise, certification preferred
  • Articulate 360 experience, certification preferred
  • Well-versed in Workday technology and capabilities
  • Knowledge of general SaaS architecture and related components in deploying SaaS solutions

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum ten (10) years Talent Management & Organizational Capability experience
  • Minimum seven (7) years of leadership experience in talent management and organization design
  • Experience effectively leading a virtual team
  • Advanced knowledge of organizational effectiveness and design methodologies, adult learning theories, change management models, and best-in-class talent management practices, frameworks, and tools
  • Experience with data modeling, analysis, and visualization generation processes and applications (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
  • Strong track record of effectively executing and innovating talent management processes including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, learning and development, organizational change and design.
  • Demonstrated success in program and project management
  • Experience deploying early career and leadership development programs
  • Track record of leading the successful harmonization of company talent management approaches and processes
  • Expert business partner, adept at fostering strategic partnerships with business stakeholders to win with talent
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage external and internal resources and a people network to execute quickly, effectively, and consistently in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; proven research skills to gather data, best practices, and points of view to ensure sound judgment
  • Ability to think creatively and drive innovation with demonstrated growth mindset
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills across all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects while maintaining attention to detail
  • Approximately 25% travel to company locations
