What to expect:


The Senior Director of ABA Operations is responsible for the growth and efficiency of the behavioral division, including P&L responsibility. This includes management of site-level operational leadership, operational process development and implementation, insurance authorization oversight, and operational training delivery. In partnership with the Sr. Director, ABA Clinical Services, this role provides oversight to ensure that each clinic has the best possible outcomes, follows best practices, and achieves the mission of NeurAbilities.

What you will do:


  • Serving as NeurAbilities’ administrative director and providing overall daily management of the agency.
  • Providing guidance for the ABA Operational function while modeling standards of leadership and fostering an environment of trust, quality, teamwork, and productivity.
  • Hiring, developing, and training operational leaders within assigned sites.
  • Supervising Practice Managers / Directors, including establishing performance expectations, consulting on performance and clinical issues, and monitoring program progress.
  • Using and disseminating metrics to Practice Managers / Directors (Key Performance Indicators) for sound decision-making.
  • Ensuring that staff schedules meet the needs of the children, youth and young adults served and accommodate their parent, legal guardian, or caregiver schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with staff qualifications and training requirements.
  • Monitoring the IBHS agency’s compliance with this chapter.
  • Developing and monitoring the quality improvement plan for the IBHS agency.


Operational Effectiveness


  • Leading the review, approval, and implementation of new processes and tools across the clinical function, in partnership with Director of ABA Operational Support, Sr. Director of ABA Clinical Operations, and General Manager, ABA Services.
  • Monitoring the progress and quality of operational efficacy and implementing corrective measures, where applicable.
  • Managing operational performance expectations, quality metrics, and benchmarks that inform and support the development of strategies to improve the quality of patient care.
  • Overseeing insurance authorization processes to ensure timely billing of services.
  • Forecasting and planning budgetary needs for the ABA function, in conjunction with the Sr. Director of ABA Operations and General Manager, ABA Services Training.
  • Partnering with the VP of People Operations and Director of ABA Operational Support to implement ABA operations competency framework and assessments.
  • Overseeing execution of new operations hire training plan, in conjunction with Director of ABA Operational Support.
  • Identifying gaps in training and competencies for clinical teammates and guiding Director of ABA Operational Support in providing specific areas of training focus.
  • Overseeing delivery of operational and management training modules, in conjunction with Director of ABA Clinical Support.
  • Providing subject matter expertise in creation of clinical and management training, designed in conjunction with VP of People Operations, Learning and Development Manager, and Director of ABA Operational Support.


What you will bring to the team:


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, education, psychology, or related field; master’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • 5+ years’ experience managing multi-site provision of medical or behavioral services, including 3+ years with P&L responsibility.
  • Experience attracting, hiring, developing, and retaining operational leaders.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills.
  • A passion for building positive culture and systems. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities.
  • Knowledge and understanding of HIPAA practices and adherence to the policies.
  • Knowledge of IBHS and managed care organization regulations and requirements.
  • Ability to drive and lead practices while adhering to requirements of the state and managed care organizations.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and maintain healthy, productive working relationships.
  • Ability to analyze data and summarize progress across multiple clinics.
  • Strong time-management skills along with flexibility and the ability to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and strong written communication skills.


Working Conditions and Physical Demands:


  • Estimated 60% travel, dependent on need.
  • Travel is typically local during the business day between the hours of 7am and 7pm, depending upon assigned caseload, but can also extend overnight based on the destination and needs of the business.
  • This job operates in both a professional and home office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as a computer, phone, photocopier, filing cabinet, and printer.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include prolonged periods of walking, running, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, climbing, stooping, and extensive self-positioning.
