For spoken language interpreters: Healthcare Interpreter National Certification or highest national credentialing (where applicable by language) through CCHI or NBCMI Medical Interpreting Certification is Required.
Completion of a minimum of 40-hour Healthcare Interpreter training.
3 years’ experience interpreting in a healthcare setting, including experience working with the community and/or target language population with a diverse cultural/socio-economic backgrounds. Ability to interpret and translate medical terminology.
Translator Certification (where applicable by language) through ATA.
80% – 90% Score for Interpreter Skills Assessment from a vendor selected by UCLA Health
Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
Preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related discipline or any area related to science or human services preferred.
