Software Engineer II (Mobile) - Remote | WFH

We are seeking a skilled Mobile Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in advancing our mobile engineering initiatives and supporting growth opportunities for our mobile developers. You'll collaborate closely within a cross-functional pod to devise innovative solutions for various challenges in mental healthcare. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across different parts of the stack to enhance our mobile app.

What You'll Be Doing

Designing and enhancing the capabilities of our Flutter app.

Learning from our Senior Developers and championing our engineering standards.

Demonstrating curiosity and initiative by working across the stack as needed - from implementing push notifications in our backend to enhancing automations.

Developing intuitive, high-quality UI components through contributions to our Flutter design system and potentially React.

Strengthening the foundation of our well-tested codebase to ensure scalability as our business expands.

Identifying areas for improvement and innovation within our application stack and advocating for them in our engineering roadmap.

Collaborating with and setting an example for the mobile team.

Assisting in making informed architecture decisions across our stack.

What Success Looks Like In This Role

Maintaining operational excellence and low error rates in our mobile codebase.

Expanding and improving test coverage for critical components to 100%.

Delivering all assigned projects on time with high quality, requiring medium to low oversight.

Identifying process pain points and developing automations or solutions.

Enhancing communication and collaboration across and within the team.

Garnering support and driving technical projects to completion within planned time frames.

Spending significant time in code reviews and providing constructive feedback to uphold code quality.

Mentoring junior and mid-level developers to help them achieve their career goals.

Responding promptly and effectively to high-severity bugs, ensuring clear communication across teams.

What We Expect From You

3+ years of professional development experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Flutter and/or other mobile development languages and concepts.

Interest in learning React for web development.

Familiarity or interest in implementing automations like CI/CD actions.

Bonus points for experience with Ruby on Rails (Backend development) and GraphQL.

Comfortable working in an agile team environment and eager to learn new technologies.

Commitment to writing well-designed tests alongside all code.

Enjoyment in coaching and developing engineers, including participating in pair programming.
