Software Development Engineer 1
The Company
Dexcom Corporation (NASDAQ DXCM; Market Cap $44.3B) is a pioneer and global leader in continuous glucose monitoring (CGM). Dexcom began as a small company with a big dream: To forever change how diabetes is managed. To unlock information and insights that drive better health outcomes. Here we are 25 years later, having pioneered an industry. And we're just getting started. We are broadening our vision beyond diabetes to empower people to take control of health. That means personalized, actionable insights aimed at solving important health challenges. To continue what we've started: Improving human health.
We are driven by nearly 10,000 ambitious, passionate people worldwide who are willing to fight like warriors to earn the trust of our customers by listening, serving with integrity, thinking big, and being dependable. We've already changed millions of lives and we're ready to change millions more. Our future ambition is to become a leading consumer health technology company while continuing to develop solutions for serious health conditions. We'll get there by constantly reinventing unique biosensing-technology experiences. Though we've come a long way from our small company days, our dreams are bigger than ever. The opportunity to improve health on a global scale stands before us.
Meet The Team
Our R&D team is looking for a Software Engineer with experience in data engineering, modeling, and machine learning (ML). In this role, you will design, develop, and deploy new data products leveraging a variety of data sources. You will also drive, own technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional and multi-platform capabilities. You will be working with the latest cloud computing platforms to create, deploy, and scale artificial intelligence (AI) systems and ML models, positioning Dexcom as an industry leader in health AI applications. We are a new team in R&D building new connected experiences for users across devices and services. As part of this team, you’ll be able to shape and implement new data-based products that will empower millions of customers to control their health.
To be successful in this position you will have experience in modern cloud-based systems (GCP, Terraform, BigQuery, etc.), development experience using standard modeling and machine learning libraries, understanding of container-based platforms such as Kubernetes. An essential part of our design involves utilizing platform-as-a-service (PAAS) components. We develop software in the context of production medical systems, which adds another layer of complexity to our work, as some software will need to pass rigorous, FDA-mandated quality control.
