We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and provide remote interpretation services for K-12 students in Alaska. If you have a passion for helping students who are deaf or hard-of-hearing succeed, and you have a strong background in American Sign Language (ASL), we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities
Offer remote interpretation services for K-12 students using American Sign Language (ASL) or other appropriate communication methods.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students' communication needs are met.
Accurately interpret spoken language into sign language, and vice versa, in various settings, including academic classes, meetings, and extracurricular activities.
Adapt your communication style and methods to match the needs and preferences of individual students.
Support students in developing their language and communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter.
At least two years of experience providing interpretation services to K-12 students.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
Experience with remote interpretation services and video conferencing software is preferred.
