About the Mission You Will Join:

TSA FAST’s mission is to provide full service, enterprise-focused applications development capabilities where IT services are delivered through state-of-the-art, service- enabled IT software systems and dynamic computing environments. Through the Office of Information Technology (OIT) provide portable, reusable, and interoperable business-driven solutions to support the greater mission of TSA. VMD will support this initiative with helping in areas of Application Development, Production Support, After hours support, Program Management, Design, Architecture and continuous process improvement.

Your Impact to the Mission:

The SharePoint Developer's primary responsibilities include:

  • Uses Agile methodologies to design, develop, enhance, debug, and implement software.
  • Troubleshoots production problems related to software applications.
  • Researches, tests, builds, and coordinates the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements.
  • Designs and develops new software products or major enhancements to existing software.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of changes to systems after deployment.
  • Addresses problems of systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platforms.
  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements.
  • Performs feasibility analysis on potential future projects for management.
  • Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of application software packages, application integration and testing tools.
  • Resolves problems with software and responds to suggestions for improvements and enhancements.
  • Participates in development of software user manuals and technical reports.

Experience Needed to Be Successful:

  • Previous hands-on experience as a SharePoint Developer (2016, 2013, 2010)
  • Must have knowledge of SharePoint in general, maintaining large lists, libraries.
  • Must have knowledge of SharePoint designer, InfoPath, and SSRS Report Designer
  • Must have knowledge of jQuery and/or other JavaScript frameworks
  • Minimum of four (4) years of recent experience developing and implementing software solutions using SharePoint
  • Minimum of four (4) year of experience working in an Agile environment

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Ability to work with product owners and colleagues to interpret feature requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test cycles using an Agile development process
  • Drawing on components from the project open-source framework, use JavaScript to design, build and test software components for new and existing government software systems
  • Ability to regularly check code into our continuous integration pipeline to incrementally build our overall system and get immediate feedback on build performance
  • Ability to develop and expand unit and integration tests which will be automatically run by the build pipeline for developer feedback

Basic Qualifiers:

  • Education Requirement: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Can Additional Years of Experience Substitute for Degree? No
  • Desired Certification(s): Agile certification
  • Minimum Years of Overall Experience: 4
  • Minimum Years of Specific Experience in Field: 4
  • Minimum Clearance to Start: Public Trust
  • Work Status Allowable: US Citizen
