WHY WE THINK YOU WILL LOVE THIS ROLE

This Senior Strategy position will sit within our Global Strategy Team at tms and will service the North American Customer Experience team specifically. This role will be largely dedicated to working on McDonald’s North America campaigns (about 80% of the workload will be dedicated to McDonald’s North America) while also having the opportunity to work on a variety of international projects and new business initiatives (about 20% of the workload will be on non-McDonald’s work).

This position will serve as the lead Strategist in creating future facing campaigns and activations for McDonald’s. The approach to the work will involve combining commercial objectives with cultural impact by, connecting with passionate communities, accelerating trends, blurring and mashing-up experiences.

What You Will Bring To The Organization

This position is a combination of creative and behavioural strategy. The role requires creative storytelling for innovation and new business opportunities, while also applying behavioural insights that influence the omni-channel customer experience. This role must deliver both the art and science of our work in a creative and compelling way for our clients and agency partners.

As a member of the Strategy team dedicated to the McDonald’s business, you will be immersing yourself in the world of food, culture and retail. We take the essence of “research” and “trend tracking” to a whole new level. As part of your role, you will spend time questing at quick-service restaurants and other retail establishments, tasting delicious foods and analyzing real-world customer experiences for the world’s most influential brands.

This role will report to, and be nurtured by, the North American Marketing Strategy Lead who heads up strategy for McDonald’s retail experience, activations, and digital content experience. This person will also mentor/manage more junior members of the team whose roles are to support the execution of campaigns and activations for McDonald’s North America.

  • Ability to work within a complex IAT system and collaborating with external agency teams

Skills And Experience We Would Like You To Have

  • 4-6 years' experience in a marketing/advertising agency account planning group or brand consulting firm
  • Proven ability in a Strategic role
  • An understanding and passion for CX, retail marketing and/or experience with retail brands and marketing teams
  • Familiarity with omni-channel customer journeys and the behavioural insights that lie within them
  • Highly collaborative with ability to build partnerships across different teams and people
  • Innate curiosity with an ability to connect insights and gain inspiration from disparate sources
  • Exceptional thinking, writing and influence skills with attention to detail
  • Fantastic presenter and storyteller; able to present complex ideas clearly
  • Solid understanding of how the analytics function and its output affects planning & strategy insights
  • Experience contributing to brand positioning and applying customer insights to the development of marketing campaigns
  • Experience in conducting/contributing to primary research and expertise in secondary research analysis
  • Comfortable working in highly flexible, ever changing entrepreneurial environments

  • Digitally savvy and curious within today's media and technology environment: including social platforms, mobile, data, online advertising
