Senior Production Artist, Brand Packaging

Are you a Senior Production Artist with brand packaging expertise, who is based in the San Francisco area? Our client is seeking a Senior Production Artist, Brand Packaging, to join their San Francisco team in a temp-to-perm role. In this position, you'll work innovatively and collaboratively with with Designers, the Project Manager, and the Creative Director of Brand Packaging on adjustments to branding, including effectively partnering and training packaging designers so they can maintain packaging standards.

Portfolio Note: Candidates must be based in the San Francisco area, have proven experience as a production artist, and provide samples of relevant work in brand packaging.

You Will:

• Create artwork and prepare final artwork for pre-press based off style guides, templates and feedback from the design team
• Assess accuracy of vendor provided dielines and be capable of mocking-up packaging with precision for executive reviews
• Manage workflow for each packaging request: creation of artwork, proofing, submitting final artwork, blue line approval
• Work innovatively and collaboratively with team on adjustments to branding, including effectively partnering and training packaging designers so they can maintain packaging standards
• Manage and update all technical information in the Brand Packaging Brand Guidelines; ensure the guidelines include all necessary information needed for production and design work so the guide can be used as a training tool
• Understand the business need for each project and collaborate with Director, Sr. Project Manager and Sr. Designer to make ongoing decisions based on what’s best for the organization and team
• Review all current packaging templates to ensure accuracy and partners with Director to understand creative direction for new branding initiatives before developing new templates
• Create and streamline processes and workflows to improve production and team productivity
• Provide weekly status updates to Sr. Project Manager on all projects, evaluating progress and suggesting solutions to any outstanding issues or noting areas for process improvement
• Work on premises for core working hours of department and extended hours to meet production deadlines when needed

You Have:

• 5+ years of production experience (a minimum of 3 of those years must be in an agency environment)
• 3+ years packaging-related work experience
• Mac OS, Adobe CC, MS Office, knowledge of PLM systems, Asana and FileMaker a plus
• Experience with direct reports
• Must be detail oriented, organized, and be a self-starter
• Strong analytical skills, organized and detail oriented with ability to problem solve
• Excellent time management skills; ability to set priorities and remain flexible to changes
• Experience working with translation agencies a plus

Logistics:

• Projected Start Date: ASAP
• Duration: Temp to perm (4 months temp, then convert to direct hire)
• Hours: 40 hour per week
• Onsite/offsite: Hybrid, 4 days onsite at San Francisco office
• Pay Rate: $55-$60/hr DOE
